VW Caddy catches fire: driver and child uninjured, road closed during extinguishing work

Heidelberg: Late Saturday afternoon, a VW Caddy caught fire on Sandhäuser Straße for reasons unknown so far. The female driver and a child were able to get to safety in time and remained unharmed before the vehicle caught fire. The road between the B535 and the transformer station had to be closed in both directions during the extinguishing work. The vehicle burned out completely and it is currently unclear what caused the fire.
