In the Old Neckar near Heidelberg missing kayaker found dead

Dossenheim/Rhein-Neckar-Kreis (ots) On Easter Saturday, two men capsized with a kayak on the Altneckar near Heidelberg - Wieblingen in the five degrees cold water. Tragically, both were not wearing life jackets. While one of the two was able to save himself on land and make an emergency call, the second has been missing ever since. The subsequent days-long and strenuous search by police and DLRG emergency services was unfortunately fruitless - despite numerous tips from the public. Now the body of the missing person has been found. A passer-by noticed a lifeless person floating in the water on 28.04.2023 around 18:00. After the subsequent recovery in the area of the Schwabenheimer Hof by the water police station Heidelberg and the fire department, the criminal investigation department was able to identify the person without doubt as the missing man.
