Large-scale operation at Lake Constance: Rescue forces search for missing skipper

On Wednesday afternoon, around 15:00, numerous emergency forces were alerted to Lake Constance off Lindau. There an abandoned sailboat had been discovered. The rescue forces then drove to the sailboat and made themselves a picture of the situation. However, there was no trace of the skipper of the boat. Task forces of the water rescue, fire department, THW and the police searched Lake Constance intensively with the support of the Vorarlberg colleagues. The fire department also had its drone soar above the lake. Finally, around 6:00 p.m., a mobile sonar device was used. The search for the missing skipper continued into the evening. Around 100 emergency personnel from various aid organizations and the water police were on the scene.
