Two years of the pandemic: assessment and outlook

Two years after the start of the pandemic, the number of infections in Germany continues to rise sharply. New highs are being reached both nationwide and in Baden-Württemberg. In many counties in the southwest, the incidence has now exceeded 2000 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the past seven days. Nevertheless, much has also changed in the past two years in terms of the situation and the assessment of the infection figures. True, Corona restrictions were supposed to be largely lifted as of March 20. But due to rising infection numbers nationwide, several states want to extend the current rules until April 2, including Baden-Württemberg.
