"Cum-Ex" scandal: Chancellor Olaf Scholz before Hamburg committee

Chancellor Olaf Scholz is under pressure. For the second time he had to testify on Friday before the Parliamentary Investigation Committee of the Hamburg Parliament on the "Cum-Ex" scandal. At the heart of the matter is once again the question of whether he or other leading SPD politicians wanted to help bankers keep millions wrongly obtained through "cum-ex" transactions. Scholz is accused of having protected the Hamburg private bank Warburg from tax refunds. The public prosecutor's office and journalists have been investigating the matter for years, but nothing has been proven. Scholz denies everything. But there is always new evidence.
