Beverage manufacturers in the north are running out of carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide is a by-product that is produced in the manufacture of fertilizers. This in turn requires a lot of energy, i.e., gas. Fertilizer manufacturers have reduced their production, so there is also less carbon dioxide. And now mineral water producers are missing it.
