Fire in residential building: Four people suffer injuries, some of them serious

Leimen-Gauangelloch: After the fire broke out on the first floor on Saturday afternoon shortly after 4:00 p.m., several people were able to leave the property independently. However, a 46-year-old woman, a 15-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy inhaled smoke gas and were treated in hospital as a precaution. A 49-year-old man suffered severe burns and had to be transported by rescue helicopter to a specialist clinic. Investigations into the cause of the fire were started by the criminal investigation department. Initial estimates put the damage to the building at around 100,000 euros. In addition to large numbers of firefighters, several ambulances and emergency doctors were also deployed.
