Corona rapid tests - City of Heidelberg assumes half the costs again in February

Since January 4, 2021, the City of Heidelberg has assumed up to half the costs of a rapid test (maximum 14.50 euros) for Heidelberg citizens who have themselves tested at a private test center in Bahnstadt. Financial resources amounting to 50,000 euros had been made available for this purpose. So far, 1318 people (19,111 euros) have taken up the offer, which is why the city of Heidelberg intends to continue paying the citizens' share. Since some pharmacies now also offer rapid tests and another private provider is looking for a location, the city of Heidelberg has made an additional 137,000 euros available so that it can continue to assist citizens with half of the test costs (maximum 14.50 euros). Due to the high demand, the Heidelberg-based company Aspilos GmbH has now opened a second rapid test center at Tiergartenstraße 13. Aspilos has already been operating a "drive through" rapid test center in the parking lot of the "Bauhaus" DIY store at Eppelheimer Straße 48 since December 30, 2020.
