J.K. Rowling has often been outspoken about her views on the transgender community, but recently she has taken them to a new level. The "Harry Potter" author posted on social media that she would "happily go to jail for two years" to defend her point of view. She was responding to an X user's comment that raised the possibility that gender identity attacks could become a criminal offense. Rowling is among the leading proponents of those who do not consider trans women to be women, pointing to the importance of biological sex. The author went on to joke that she would have more fun in prison than on any red carpet.
