Blondie has announced that the band's longtime drummer, Clem Burke, has passed away at the age of 70 after a battle with cancer. "Clem was not just a drummer, he was the heartbeat of Blondie... Burke, who described himself as a "Rock 'n' Roll survivor," started drumming at the age of 14 and joined Blondie in the 1970s after responding to an ad for a 'Freak Energy' drummer. His powerful, fast drumming became a defining part of the band's sound, especially on hits like 'Dreaming'.
