Many mothers, including celebrities like TV and internet personality Kylie Jenner, regret the name they chose for their baby. Jenner said she regretted the name of her son "Wolf" in 2022 due to the pressure to sign the birth certificate and later renamed him "Aire." In a survey conducted by Babycenter, 478 parents were asked about their regrets regarding naming their baby. They found that 9% of parents regret the name they chose for their child. About 6% acted on their regret and legally changed their child's first or last name, which is often a time-consuming process. Some participants mentioned that the regret was not permanent and in some cases, giving the child a nickname helped. Approximately 15% of participants mentioned that their child's name had been criticized by others before, and 10% felt that their child's name did not match their personality. Middle names were preferred by 15% and 20% of respondents preferred their child's nickname. Some expectant parents seek professional naming advice to avoid such regrets. Naming consultant Colleen Slagen charges between $250 and $400 for her services.

Travel, wildlife and safaris have all been compromised by the virus but it has taught me that there is plenty of beauty in the natural world on our doorstep."
Every morning, students at Suanlumpinee School in Bangkok gather beneath a coloured flag, signifying the day's air quality. With red indicating the worst, yellow the second worst, and blue the best, pupils squeeze into the "clean" classroom - one of only four air-conditioned rooms equipped with air purifiers and filtration systems. Thailand consistently records alarming levels of air pollution, with its cities ranking among the world's most polluted for numerous days last year. Unfortunately, children bear the brunt of this crisis, facing heightened risks of respiratory damage in the long run.
