The multi-day Chinese military maneuver in the Strait of Formosa is fueling fears among people in Taiwan's Matsu archipelago of a possible war. "We wouldn't stand a chance against China's weapons if war broke out," says a resident of the archipelago. "Say the Russia-Ukraine war, that's terrifying. I feel very emotional seeing the people there become destitute and homeless. Because war has a tremendous impact on people, especially common people like us," Lin said.
