Despite lacking a majority: Poland's president tasks PiS with forming government

On Monday, Polish President Duda tasked Prime Minister Morawiecki from the PiS party with forming a new government. Although the PiS became the strongest party in the elections in October, it does not have a majority or partners in parliament. Instead, an alliance of three pro-European opposition parties led by Donald Tusk won a clear majority of seats.
