According to OECD statistics, the average annual working time in Germany has decreased by around 600 hours since 1970. One main reason: more and more people are working part-time. But even full-time employees have shorter working hours - due to collective agreements, more vacation days, and fewer overtime hours. At the same time, productivity per hour worked is increasing. Nevertheless, the debate on whether we should work more again remains current.
