Why Princess Diana used a special hairspray

According to a former royal beauty chemist, Princess Diana's '90s pixie haircut was kept in shape by a special hairspray. Speaking to Page Six, Sheree Ladove Funsch, who was in her early 20s at the time, explained that she developed the hairspray to prevent Diana's "helicopter hair." "When she got out of the helicopter, the rotor blades would spin and her hair would blow. Her beautifully coiffed, cute haircut would then get all messed up," Ladove told Funsch. Ladove Funsch, who is now the CEO of LaDove Inc, explained that the princess wanted the hairspray to have a firm hold but still look soft. "She didn't want anything that would make her hair look like it was stuck, because she was young and beautiful," she said, referring to Diana's timeless look. The main ingredient in the hairspray was gum resin from a tree, and Ladove Funsch explained, "It was just about creating something amazing for her."
