Real Madrid has been eliminated from the Champions League. On Wednesday (16th), the Merengues lost 1-2 to Arsenal at the Santiago Bernabéu. This allowed the English team to advance to the semi-finals with a total score of 5-1. Saka and Martinelli scored for the Gunners, while Vinicius Jr. contributed a goal. Despite the support of the fans, Ancelotti's team could not find their rhythm. In the first half, referee François Letexier played a controversial role by awarding two penalties, one for each side, and then retracting both after a VAR review. Courtois also saved Saka's penalty. In the second half, the Gunners opened the scoring in the 20th minute with a beautiful goal from Saka. Two minutes later, Vinicius took advantage of a mistake by Saliba to equalize. However, in stoppage time, Martinelli broke through the defense, dribbled inside, and scored the winning goal, silencing the Bernabéu. Arsenal will now face PSG in the semi-finals. On the other side of the table, Barcelona and Inter Milan are fighting for the second spot in the final. The first legs will take place on April 29th and 30th, with the second legs on May 6th and 7th. After the elimination, Real Madrid will focus on the LaLiga title and the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona scheduled for April 26th.
