Dental health cost trap in Germany - dental tourism in Hungary stronger than ever

We are heading towards the year 2024 and with it, changes in the healthcare system are ever closer. Because the fact is that health insurance contributions will be higher and private health insurers are also increasing their contributions significantly, according to the announcement by German insurers. If the German Minister of Health has his way, even dental services could soon be paid for in full by the patient. In 2022, statutory health insurance companies paid around 13 billion euros for dental treatment - around five percent of total expenditure. For patients who need dentures, it will therefore probably be quite expensive in 2024. Hungarian dental clinics are not currently reporting any major price increases on the already cheaper rates for dental prosthetics. The savings are still 50-70% below the German or Austrian rates.
