Fatal accident with police vehicle in Schwetzingen

Schwetzingen / Rhein-Neckar-Kreis: A traffic accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon around 12:30 p.m. between a police vehicle and a cyclist on Ketscher Landstraße. The woman suffered life-threatening injuries. Despite immediate rescue efforts, the cyclist succumbed to her injuries and died at the scene of the accident. According to initial investigations by the Mannheim Traffic Department, a collision occurred during a road crossing, in which the woman was hit by the police vehicle. An expert has been commissioned by the Mannheim Public Prosecutor's Office to investigate the course of the accident and has begun work.
