Fire in multi-family house in Hockenheim - 13 slightly injured, five people rescued with turntable ladder

Hockenheim: On Sunday afternoon, there was a fire on the first floor of a multi-family house in Hildastraße in Hockenheim. The fire brigade was able to extinguish the fire quickly and prevent the flames from spreading to neighboring buildings. Due to the strong smoke development, a total of 13 people were slightly injured. Three of them had to be taken to a hospital as a precaution for further medical treatment. Five residents were rescued from the building with the help of a turntable ladder. The affected residential building is currently uninhabitable. The resulting property damage is estimated at around 100,000 euros. According to current information, a technical defect cannot be ruled out as a possible cause of the fire. Further investigations have been taken over by the fire experts of the Hockenheim police station.
