A British cinema issued a warning after inappropriate behavior during the screening of 'A Minecraft Movie' went viral on the TikTok social media platform. An incident circulating on social media showed rowdy audience members shouting, throwing food and popcorn into the crowd, and cursing. The social media trend revolves around a specific scene in the movie where a zombie baby rides on a chicken. This scene prompted viewers to film themselves and others loudly reciting the line 'Chicken Jockey' from the movie, often in a disruptive manner. The current trend prompted a Cineworld cinema in Witney, Oxfordshire, to issue a warning against such behavior. 'Any form of antisocial behavior, especially anything that could disturb other guests, such as loud shouting, clapping, and yelling, will not be tolerated. Anyone behaving in this way will be excluded from the screening and will not be entitled to a refund,' Cineworld said in the statement. The trend, which has spread internationally, led to police being called to a cinema in the USA. The film starring Jack Black and Jason Momoa revolves around the popular video game 'Minecraft,' which became a cultural phenomenon after its release in 2011. The film, eagerly awaited by 'Minecraft' fans worldwide, received little love from critics, with one critic describing the film as 'absolutely terrible.' Despite the criticism, the film alone reportedly grossed an estimated $272 million at the global box office on its opening weekend.
