The rapper Cardi B, whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar, has expressed her condolences to the Dominican Republic after the roof of the popular nightclub 'Jet Set' collapsed, killing at least 98 people. The incident occurred during a concert by the popular Dominican Merengue singer Rubby Pérez, who reportedly was killed in the collapse. The rapper, whose father is Dominican, expressed her sympathy in her 'BG Secret Society' community on Instagram. "I am literally in tears as I see my Dominican compatriots being rescued in my timeline, some with life and others not. I am sad as I see families desperately and full of pain looking for their loved ones. I feel that all Dominicans around the world are in a great Hora Santa and praying for the survivors and those who are no longer here to be in God's glory," she wrote. The 32-year-old sent her prayers to those who lost a family member or friend in the incident, assuring them that they will 'leave this earth singing and dancing.' Almanzar also praised Pérez as an 'iconic artist' who died 'tragically.' She said she was 'glad' that her 'last memory of him was sharing his beautiful voice with us' before urging her fans to 'pray for those' involved in the incident. Almanzar continues to profess her love for her Dominican heritage and shares how she introduces Dominican culture to her children through cooking. The rapper often stays in the Caribbean country, where she owns a summer house in the city of Las Terrenas. At least 160 people were injured in the accident, and rescue services continue to search for more people under the rubble.
