Neil Young fears being denied re-entry to the USA after criticizing US President Donald Trump. The Canadian musician, who holds dual citizenship, will tour Europe this summer but is concerned that his outspoken remarks could lead to detention or deportation. In a blog post, Young warned that his comments against Trump could now have serious consequences. "If you say something bad about Trump or his government, you may be denied re-entry to the USA. If you are Canadian, if you are dual citizens like me, who knows? We will all find out together... If the fact that I consider Trump the worst president in the history of our great country could prevent me from coming back, what does that say about freedom?" said Young. He questioned the state of free speech in the USA and suggested that criticism of Trump could now be punished. Young has long been against Trump. In 2020, he sued the former president for the unauthorized use of his song 'Rockin' In The Free World' and repeatedly criticized him in open letters. He later allowed Kamala Harris's vice presidential candidate, Tim Walz, to use the song for his campaign. Despite his concerns, Young will headline at Glastonbury and BST Hyde Park before returning to the USA in August for a North American tour. However, he pointed out that ticket holders would be left without a concert if he is denied entry. In addition to his tour, Young recently released 'Big Change,' his first song with The Chrome Hearts.
