A psychologist has revealed a simple trick to help you fall asleep quickly on airplanes. Psychologist Erica Terblanche calls the technique 'crossing the alpha bridge' and says it can help you fall asleep 'pretty much anywhere.' Terblanche has described four simple steps to falling asleep, with most people successfully using this technique on the first try. Step one: Start by sitting or lying comfortably, close your eyes, and count to 30. Step two: Open your eyes a 'small slit like a crescent moon and count to 5.' Step three: Repeat the first step, close your eyes, and count to 30. Step four: Open your eyes again to a 'crescent moon sliver and count to 5,' then close them again. Terblanche emphasizes focusing on breathing in and out through the nose. Most people fall asleep after the first cycle, but if not, repeat it, and it will surely work after one or two more attempts.

He explains: “2020 has been a challenge for me like it has for millions. Every morning, students at Suanlumpinee School in Bangkok gather beneath a coloured flag, signifying the day's air quality. With red indicating the worst, yellow the second worst, and blue the best, pupils squeeze into the "clean" classroom - one of only four air-conditioned rooms equipped with air purifiers and filtration systems. Thailand consistently records alarming levels of air pollution, with its cities ranking among the world's most polluted for numerous days last year. Unfortunately, children bear the brunt of this crisis, facing heightened risks of respiratory damage in the long run.
